My name is Sky Alexander and I am a newly published historical romance Novelist. Let me take a few moments of your time to tell you a little something about myself, my father, and the novel series I'll Never Be Free and the first book The Fires of Love and Hate which my father originally started.


    /Idaho News Articles/ - IDAHO FALLS, ID, March 05, 2007 - For most of my life, my father Shayne Alexander worked on the series which is fictionally based on my great grandmother Hattie. I was inspired by his endless research and desire to inspire folks to never lose faith as they struggle with life's challenges.

My father's passing was hard for my family. He had been the "glue". After his death, I chose to honor him by completing his first book as well as the series.

I personally love romance novel characters -- the knights in shining armor, self-indulgent temptresses, and folks who engender empathy. So, I've infused I'll Never Be Free series with the full array --- from colorful villain to attractive heroes.

Hattie Morran was an uneducated farmer's daughter from a small town in Missouri. Life gave Hattie few opportunities until Rebecca Garland decided to bequeath her fortune to Hattie, bypassing both a son and a husband. This stunning turn was laid out by Mrs. Garland in these terms: "Miss Hattie, I want you to go ahead as planned and marry Abner, for two good reasons. First of all, I love you, and nothing would make me happier than to have you as my daughter-in-law. Secondly, when you marry Abner, you will become my legal heir, which would empower me to legally give or transfer any part of my fortune to you." This, of course, causes a multitude of problems, spanning an emotional, character-driven series.

Even though The Fires of Love and Hate is a fictional work, many events were patterned after the very colorful life of my great-grandmother, Hattie.
