Coach Jamaal Al-Din accepted into Idaho IDA Program, sponsored by United Way of Treasure Valley, Idaho. Jamaal Al-Din, owner of Jamaal Al-Din's Hoops 227, is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and played for Australia Basketball Hall of Fame member, Ed Palubinskas at Mountain Home High School.


/Idaho News Articles/ - BOISE, ID, June 24, 2008 - Jamaal Al-Din has been accepted into the Idaho Individual Development Account program sponsored by the United Way of Treasure Valley which is located in Boise, Idaho. Coach Jamaal is the owner of Jamaal Al-Din's Hoops 227, in Boise, which specializes in basketball camps, private training and also known as -the everything basketball website.

"After hearing about the IDA program from the Meta organization, I felt like this would be a truly win-win situation. This is free money," said Jamaal. "You have to love that."

Coach Jamaal Al-Din, who graduated from Mountain Home High School and is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan played for former LSU great, Australia Basketball Hall of Fame member and former free throw tutor of the NBA's Shaquille O'Neal- Ed Palubinskas. Jamaal Al-Din is the first participant of the META program to be accepted into the IDA program sponsored by United Way of Treasure Valley.

Jamaal read an article about META in the local Boise, Idaho newspaper-The Idaho Statesman, and decided to pursue them for business capital. Meta provides ono-on-one consulting, microloans and business plan training. META clients are equipped with the necessary attributes to contribute to the economic quality of the communities in which they live.

The Idaho Individual Developement Accounts progam (IDA), matches funds of $2 for $1 saved up to a maximum of $2,000. IDA program partners include:

Coach Jamaal's 1st annual Hoops 227 Summer basketball camp was featured on KIVI Channel 6 news in Boise, and held participants from countries such as the United States, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Ethiopia and Somalia. This year's 2008 Jamaal Al-Din's Hoops 227 Summer Basketball Camp will be held at the Community Christian Center in Garden City, on July 7th and 8th.
