iTySE Partners with Oregon Correction Enterprises
Reusable Shopping Bag Retailer Utilizes Local Resource
FRUITLAND, ID, April 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As demand increases for the stylish iTySE Shopping System, co-founders Chris Kodama and Shawna Pierson have turned to a regional asset to assemble and ship the iTySE product. According to the entrepreneurs, they wanted their product to come from the United States. When a partnership with Oregon Corrections Enterprises became an option, iTySE decided it was a beneficial move for a variety of reasons.
"Our iTySE Shopping System is not only, stylish, washable and convenient, we are also assembled in the USA. iTySE has contracted its production with Oregon Corrections Enterprises. OCE strives to provide inmates with skills and attitudes needed to enhance their opportunities to secure employment upon release," Pierson said. "A large percentage of wages earned by the prisoners are returned to the community in the form of payments to victim's restitution, child support, and paying for room and board while incarcerated. OCE is not funded by tax dollars."
Along with utilizing OCE as a production resource, iTySE intends on using its shipping services as well.
"In the future, all of our web site orders will be processed by OCE. They will package and ship our products directly from their Oregon facility," Kodama said.
OCE is comprised of approximately 1,400 Oregon inmates who participate in work programs via eight correctional institutions. The organization's goal is to provide its workers with the attitudes and skills needed to improve their opportunities to secure employment once they are released.
